Book Reviews

If the purpose of this blog is to share the pleasure of reading, reviews and comments on existing books and other writing are very much a part of it. Some of my reviews can be found on Amazon.com and also on Barnes and Noble. Reviews by Joanna Simm.
Future reviews will also be posted here.

If you have read something inspirational, entertaining or even spectacularly not those things, please let me know.

  1. Two autobiographies I have enjoyed recently are Nigel Slater's "Toast" - childhood memories as seen through food, and "Wait for me", the Duchess of Devonishire and last remaining Mitford girl's life. A fascinating insight into an age we will not see again, by a lady who has lived life to the full, mixing with the highest - the royal family, the Kennedys - and the humbler mortals working on her estate at Chatsworth. She comes across as a sensible, thoroughly decent, hard-working woman who I would love to meet. Many hilarious anecdotes about the great and good. Very highly recommended.
